Today's Gospel & Reflections

G O S P E L

This is one of the shortest Gospel readings in the liturgy; you only need to be distracted for a moment and you will miss it. Yet, the message it contains is one of the most important we can hear. It is the centerpiece of the Gospel in fact; it is doing the Word of God, that is  obedience, that counts in the long run. Let us stop for a while today and reflect upon this truth.

Luke 11:27-28
27 While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the  breasts at which you nursed.” 28 He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

my reflections
think: Obedience to the Word of God is what counts in the long run.
